Building the Perfect Foundation for a Shipping Container
October 22, 2024 ยท Eveon Containers
Shipping containers are engineered to sit on flat, load-bearing surfaces. Even a slight tilt can cause doors to bind, water to pool on the roof, and uneven stress on the frame over time.
Common foundations include compacted gravel pads, pressure-treated railroad ties, concrete pier blocks, and full concrete slabs. The right choice depends on soil conditions, lease terms, and whether the container will be relocated.
Before delivery, clear the approach path for the truck, confirm overhead clearance, and mark the exact drop location. Share site photos with customer care if access is tight.
